With 2 other couples, my wife and I just returned from Prague. In a van, with our guide Jaroslav Minarik we took 4 days and nights on the tour from Vienna to Prague. Previously we had told him what we wanted to see, our interests and type of hotels. I cannot speak highly enough about Jaroslav, his son Martin and their company. They are outstanding and I would highly recommend you contact Martin for Eastern Europe. They do all kinds of tours, custom, biking, walking and so on. There were only positives in our dealings with both of them.

I want to let you know how wonderful our biking trip was in the Czech Repulic. I can honestly say that it was the best trip we have ever taken and that it far exceeded all our expectations. When I say our expectations were exceeded, I mean that the bicycles were better than we expected, the accommodations were better, the food was better and most of all the trip was far more interesting than I expected. We were treated to so many special tours, special dinners, and special sights. Our guides were extremely knowledgeable about the history and geography of the area. When I fill out the questionairre and give the trip the highest ratings it is because the ratings are deserved. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of the trip was the attention to details by our guides. In addition to careful planning of all the hotels and restaurants, they knew all the curves, hills and possible obstacles on the tour. They thoughtfully prepared the picnic lunches on several days, and provided special tours of sights like monasteries, museums, and even a brewery. I had expected that we would simply ride between our hotels on a general itinerary from Vienna to Prague. In fact, the trip consisted of eight carefully selected and carefully planned bicycle trips on excellent paved roads through lovely country and past many interesting sights. We will certainly be taking other REI trips in the future. Sincerely

I want to thank you for your wonderful support to me in preparation for my cycling trip through the Czech Republic. I had a fantastic time! The route notes and maps were adequately clear. When I got lost, it was because I second-guessed the directions/didn't follow them properly. When I did veer off the suggested path (purposely or otherwise) I found myself in beautiful parks, lanes, or villages. Even though I traveled alone, I never felt threatened in any way. The two taxi drivers that assisted me were both fabulous, and most of the hotels I stayed in were adorable. The Trebonsko region, though was tremendous fun to Explore. I loved Lednice, and was very glad I had the chance to explore that chateau and its grounds. In the end, I learned so much about the southern Moravia and southern Bohemia areas. I am already recommending the trip to all my friends and contacts.
